Best Sites to Find Cheap Car Hire
Hello Car Hire Seekers!
As promised, today’s post will be some information about the best internet sites to find cheap car hire. I will break the market into two segments. The first will be about actual car hire companies and the second will be about car hire brokers.
Here are the top three car hire companies (in no particular order).
1. AVIS
2. Budget
3. Hertz
If you get a car hire directly from the supplier, you can eliminate the middle man. There are advantages and disadvantages to this strategy. The positive aspect is that you are reserving straight from the supplier and there is basically no lag time between reservation and confirmation. What I mean is that you make the reservation on the internet and it is confirmed instantly. With the broker companies there is usually a confirmation waiting period. The disadvantage is that renting directly from the suppliers means you will have to pay a higher price. Although it seems counter-intuitive, getting the car hire directly from the supplier costs more than from a broker. This is because the Brokerage companies can reach a larger audience and the car hire suppliers offer lower prices to the brokerage firms. So without further ado, I will show the top brokerage companies.
Here are the top 3 brokerage companies (in no particular order).
1. Carrentals.com
2. Decodecarhire.co.uk
3. Orbitz.com
I have personally used all three of these companies and my results have been nothing short of spectacular. Of course everyone’s experience with a brokerage site will be varied, but I found these three to be the best. They had fast turn around time (almost no lag between reservation and confirmation) and they delivered what they promised for really cheap prices. I think it is a good idea to use a brokerage company to set up a car hire if you have the luxury of time. If you use one of these three sites, you have the best chance of a fast response. But, if you go with another site, because you found a lower price, be prepared to wait up to 5 days before the car hire is confirmed.
In conclusion, I think that brokerage sites are the best option to find a cheap car hire. Make sure you plan your car hire well in advance and you will have no problems using any brokerage company. If you are running short on time, it is best to reserve the car hire with the actually company because you can get an instant confirmation response. So, brokerage companies will save you more money but they are suspect to being unreliable. Car hire suppliers are reliable, but they have higher prices (sometimes 20% – 30% more).
My advice, go with a brokerage company.
