Avalanches – Unforeseen Disasters

Avalanches are a natural occurrence that only Mother Nature knows when and where they happen to go. Even with modern technology, it is still impossible to know exactly when or where it will occur. For climbers, this is an important concern, and they are smart, they will be kept in mind, avalanches kill many every year.

The physics of how and why an avalanche occurs, is complex. Rock and snow base are stacked and held together by the weighteach other. Many variables can lead to the adaptation of this bond, and may the forces of gravity lead to disaster.

Although it is difficult to predict when and where will be an avalanche, there are periods of high probability. During the transition from winter to spring a little snow and ice melt, tends to trigger avalanches. Also on the day breaks, there is a higher probability of change due to temperature. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing when orwhere one goes to occur so climbers must always be cautious.

Stay alert when climbing and do not overburden yourself with the thought of an avalanche. This worrying do not, your ability to concentrate or even panic going on.

While hiking on runways to keep a certain distance between the climbers. When an avalanche occurs then there will be fewer lost their lives and get a higher probability that someone help for the victim.

There are areas with increased risk forAvalanches, and these should be avoided. Since it is more likely an incident where a top layer of snow is loose, prevent, where heavy snow or rain has occurred recently is. A concave slope is a better choice than a convex one for climbing and hiking around as there is less snow fall or it is already Avalanched.

Try to land that you are familiar with the selection and stay in areas with rocks, shrubs and trees. Trees and shrubs snow can accumulate, and keep the layers stable. If aAvalanche occurs, trees will take the impact of the snow to make it a better chance that may arise from damage. Avalanches are much more likely occur in areas with a smooth floor, so avoid these areas.

Climbers must also pay attention to the degree of slope. Avalanches do not occur on level ground, and there is little snow on very steep terrain. The greatest danger is in areas where the slope of 25 to 40 degrees.

Avalanches are of real concern to climbersTake precautions to avoid areas and times of occurrence of the chance bigger ones. Remember that if you are then stuck in an avalanche, there is no car available to take you to the nearest airport.
