Honda Hydrogen Car – Is There a Better Alternative?

November 21st, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

Japanese car manufacturer Honda has recently introduced the production of the new series of cars that run on alternative fuels. The Hydrogen Car Honda, Honda FCX Clarity, is the latest series of hydrogen-powered cars that we will soon see on the streets. Other manufacturers such as BMW, GM and Ford have their own range of cars that run on hydrogen fuel cells. However, the Honda FCX is the world's first commercial production of such vehicles. The increasing use of alternative fuelspower our cars is significant, particularly in view of the rapidly rising oil prices.

The Honda FCX, introduced as a prototype at the Tokyo Motor Show 2005, you can save significantly on fuel. The car can go for 280 miles before refueling is required. Its fuel consumption is the equivalent of 74 MPG in regular gas-powered car (the average fuel consumption of a family-sized car in the United States is about 20 MPG)

While the arrival of theHonda hydrogen car is a good message, Honda only produce about 70 of these vehicles per year. The reality is that these high-tech vehicles are probably outside the reach of average consumers like you and me, to be available especially with the low offer and "novelty" value prices. The triumph of the hydrogen-powered cars will be very limited because there are very few hydrogen filling stations in the United States or elsewhere in the world.

So what is the alternative fuel optionsaverage car driver have? It is an inexpensive but powerful alternative to the hydrogen-powered car – the HHO fuel cell kit. This beat promoted do-it-yourself kit by many as a response to high oil prices has been. In short, this device produces HHO gas (or hydroxyl) that is used when supplement to gasoline to increase dramatically to fuel our cars' efficiency. HHO gas has the atomic power of hydrogen, but burns with the chemical stability of water. Best of all, HHO gas can be producedby electrolysis, with one of the cheapest and most commonly occurring natural resources around us – WATER!

The technology behind the production and use of HHO gas is not complicated. It has been around for almost a century, and was due to media attention recently because of high oil prices. Many people who have assembled their own HHO fuel cell kit, have testified that he has saved thousands of dollars in gas costs. But why not? They are practically the operation of theirCars on the water, even if some degree. Good water-to-gas conversion guides are also easily available online, making it easier for all, the technology itself.

The Honda hydrogen car is there, but you have a better alternative in dealing with water to power your car. You save money and go green at the same time. Fill up your trips to the gas pumps need not be a dreaded affair.
