Although drive-in restaurants have become very popular in the 1950s, the idea is to actually be a little older than this. The first drive-in restaurant opened as early as 1910, profit on the new invention, the automobile, which was quickly caught with the general population not only car hobbyist. These early drive-in restaurants are said to be the beginning of the fast-food restaurant, they invited people to pull off the road, but not in generalIndoor seating. Most customers eat in their cars before driving away, as opposed to today's ride in restaurants for those who want to take the food home with them.

Drive in restaurants has finally reached its peak in popularity after World War II, when the soldiers got back home, jobs, and could finally afford a family car. This allowed families to travel to restaurants nightly. The transition from the traditional sit-down restaurants, this show quickly solvedhow much the car culture is changing life in this period.

The first drive-in restaurants were the mother and pop operations, not the big franchises, you had to find today. Changed in the 1960s, but it all was. The "baby boomer" generation, widely recognized as a distinct age group of young people led. Many belong to their own cars due to the postwar prosperity. This new group has to exercise their purchasing power, and had a large impact on thousands of products, ranging from cars to clothing to fast food.

During the 1960s, 1950s and early years, families and couples, teenagers always looked a trifle to a drive to eat in the restaurant, where a Carhop would serve the guests in their car. The dinner was intended to be eaten in the car itself, many 1950 vehicles actually built into the glove compartments to hold cups of soda. Although it seems strange today, with the prevalence of fast-food restaurants in every city, there is againno quick way to get to the restaurant food.

The idea of drive-in got a boost from this newly discovered car culture. These spots popular meeting place for family dinner date spots and made. Successful Drive-ins were franchises that have done as well as drive through fast food restaurants today.

The new fade in this new marketing idea, but began from the mid-1970s. It was quickly replaced with a new idea, the drive-through restaurant. This cut the Carhop and foodwill jump from a window does not come from someone who must be served in your car. New cars no longer come with drinks and meal trays in the glove, but with cup holders in the center console.

There are still drive-in restaurants in the area, although most have changed in the drive-in restaurants or transformed into the "retro" style restaurants. Many pine for those "simpler" times in the 1950s and 1960s. This nostalgic feelings to have led to a resurgence notonly 1950-style into the drive, but pedal cars, 1950s retro-style home decor, and countless other ideas that once popular decades ago. As baby boomers grow older, the toys and other pop-culture ideas of their youth are making a comeback. If you participate in this retro-culture, visit a retro drive-in restaurant, buy a pedal car for your kids, and add some retro styling to your home.
