Waikiki Car Rental Guide
Waikiki is perhaps best known for some of the finest beaches in not only Hawaii, but in the world. But it is not so known are the behind the scenes highways and quiet roads that make up for an amazing drive in one of Hawaii's most beautiful places.
Renting a car in Waikiki is not that hard as most of the major companies are there and waiting to rent you a car. There are a few different options I'd recommend when seeing Waikiki by vehicle such as renting a convertible, air conditioned SUV or go off-roading with a Jeep rental. If you're a fan of the show LOST then you can rent a Jeep and tour around the area used to film the show when it's not in use which has become a tourist hot spot.
Waikiki offers a lot of secluded and private beaches which can be accessed with a Jeep, or from a car with a small hike. Having this option provides a much more intimate Waikiki experience which allows you to get away from the crowds. Another great reason to get a Jeep if you're a surfer looking for great waves with not a lot of surfer traffic. Waikiki is a hot bed for surfing due to the larger waves which tend to pound the shoreline all day long.
