Auburn was an American automobile manufacturers, cars produced from 1900 to 1936. Like so many other early automobile manufacturers have been Auburn automobiles by manufacturers of horse-drawn carriages, and Frank Morris Eckhart of Eckhart Carriage Co. The first models were experiments as they were hand-built cars and distributed them to set up only in the Auburn area.

Over time, Auburn cars then came to their advanced technology and striking appearance to be known.

This imaginative designers have been hired by Erret Loban Cord when he ran the company from 1924 to 1937. The pre-mounted single-cylinder engine was a solid in the middle of the vehicle and placed produces 10 hp (7.5 kW). A A.2-speed planetary transmission was also installed to supplement the makings of the Boattail Speedster.

Due to the shortage of materials during the World –World War, and the financial fall-out in the market during the Great Depression, the production in Auburn was too expensive, and the plant eventually had to be closed. Today, however, the art deco headquarters in Auburn has a car museum and became a National Historic Landmark in 2005.
